After being struck by the pandemic and now the cost of living crisis, Gen Z is embracing cash as an efficient budget management tool.

In Poland, nearly half of all card transactions involve cash withdrawals and cashback operations. During the pandemic, the Polish central bank has defended the consumers’ right to use cash in retail payments.

As cash payments have been declining during the pandemic, due to reduced economic activity and a shift towards online and contactless payments, consumers and citizens are increasingly calling for the right to access cash and its acceptance for payments.
