Millennials track spending with cash

In the US, millennials prefer paper over plastic when shopping or settling debts with friends and family.

To avoid over-spending, 71% of American Millennials leave their credit cards at home before going to the mall. Cash is also their preferred payment method to settle debts with friends and family and 67% are always sure to have some greenbacks in their wallet for their daily purchases.

But Millennials are also particularly concerned about security, which is why many of them choose cash. In fact, 93% say they feel protected against hackers when they use paper instead of plastic. In 2014 alone, 17.6 million people were reported victims of identity theft in the United States.
